In this three-part case study, we explore the redesign of Applied Medical's motion graphic logo, a crucial element for this innovative surgical device company. Applied Medical effectively incorporates the logo in various mediums, including Product Support Materials (PSM) efforts, social media posts, and internal videos, to enhance their overall communication and branding strategy. The logo takes center stage in the majority of their videos, serving as an integral component of their corporate identity.

PART 1:

The initial designs of the motion intro incorporated key brand elements in alignment with the company's style guides. However, one of the concerns with the existing intro was its excessive duration, which became a critical factor given the prevalence of video hosting on social media platforms. Rather than completely overhauling the current design, my objective was to create an evolution of the animation that would represent the next step forward.

Example of the Previous Motion intro.

PART 2:

I drew inspiration for the motion from the sleek appearance of the deltas' flight, while also incorporating the clean and modern aesthetic of the company. This informed the design of the wipes and transitions, which feature a distinct glass-like look.

PART 3:

Numerous iterations and revisions were made to ensure that every detail aligned with the company's vision and brand identity. After some guidance from the companies new branding guide I moved forward on creating several attempt to bring the new title cards to life.

Along with the title card I created iterations of potential, new, logo intros.

The chosen design encapsulates the essence of Applied Medical, striking a harmonious balance between professionalism and innovation. Here is a closer look at some examples that showcase the application of the redesigned motion graphic logo. These examples explore how the logo seamlessly integrates into various videos, amplifying the visual impact and reinforcing Applied Medical's brand presence.
